End User License Agreement
Last updated: June 2026
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) governs your use of the Bitruvius RIPT codec and all associated software, libraries, SDKs, and tooling (the “Software”). In short: the Software is proprietary, the decoders and SDKs are free to use, and encoding requires a license.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. Proprietary Software
The Software is the exclusive property of Bitruvius, Inc. and is protected by copyright, patents (issued and pending), and trade-secret law. This EULA grants you a limited license to use the Software under the terms below; it does not transfer any ownership or intellectual-property rights.
3. Decoders and SDKs — Free to Use
Bitruvius grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, integrate, and redistribute the Bitruvius decoder libraries and SDKs — including the decode-only native libraries and the browser and client SDKs — to decode and read Bitruvius-format data within your own applications, viewers, and services, at no charge. You may bundle the decoder and SDK artifacts with your application and distribute them to your end users, provided all proprietary and attribution notices are preserved.
4. Encoding Requires a License
The Bitruvius encoder — any software, library, or tooling that creates, writes, or produces Bitruvius-encoded data — is not covered by the free decoder and SDK grant in Section 3. Production or commercial use of the encoder requires a valid commercial license from Bitruvius. To obtain an encode license, contact contact@bitruvius.com.
5. Restrictions
Except as expressly permitted above, you may not:
- use the encoder without a valid commercial license;
- remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary or attribution notices;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
- use the Software to develop or assist in developing a competing product; or
- sublicense the Software, except for the decoder and SDK redistribution expressly permitted in Section 3.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Bitruvius does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bitruvius, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software.
8. Governing Law
This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
